Held in Rotterdam (NL) on 10 December 2024

It gathered 17 participants from 4 countries to create the methodological framework for the desk-research, interviews and focus groups that would be used to gather the evidence and data for the State of the Art Report.

More than 70 participants including representatives from museums, volunteers with and without migrant backgrounds engaged in museum activities, and people interested in the topic of decolonization shared their experience, insights and opinions on how volunteering in museums is organised and what training is available to museum curators and volunteer managers as well as reflecting on the extent to which it involves aspects related to the inclusion of diverse groups in volunteering, in particular people from migrant/ diaspora backgrounds. The question of how the topic of decolonization is tackled by museums and the role of volunteers in these processes was also addressed.

Networking meeting the 11th and 12 th June in Faro

It will take place in FARO.

The meeting gathered 22 participants from 4 countries, including museum volunteer managers, museum curators, volunteers, and representatives of volunteer organizations. In the first part of the meeting, the partners presented the State of the Art Report. Following this, participants shared their experiences and actively contributed to shaping the training framework. The collaborative discussions contributed to the co-creation of the training manual and program, with a focus on engaging diverse volunteers in the museum and cultural heritage sector.entation of t
